We’re only 14 months apart in age. I remember being so excited about our 1996 birthdays, because we both celebrated our golden birthdays that year – me on the 7th and him on the 6th.
When we were tiny, I guess I tortured the poor guy, yet he still loved me.
In high school, he was one of my best friends. To this day he remains in a special place in my heart.
I’m so proud of him – about to graduate college and become an officer in the military. He married a wonderful woman, and is now a dad to the cutest little boy. And he is a great dad.
He’s a natural-born leader and can remember an entire movie script after only seeing it once. I can’t wait to see where God leads Matt in the future.
Sometimes I get down in the dumps about things. I compare my life to other people’s, which we all know we shouldn’t do. But then I remember the people in my life – how wonderful they are – and the down-in-the-dumps feelings are gone. This series is my own realization, and hopefully an encouragement to you, that when you feel down in the dumps all you need to do is think of those who love you and support you.
