The worst thing you can do is put yourself in isolation.
You may think that by running from and pushing away the people you love will spare them pain. But it won’t. And it won’t help you heal. I’ve only seen people experience healing when they do the hard thing and stayed amongst the people it was hardest to see but could help them the most.
People aren’t perfect, we know that. But being around them—that’s good. It’s hard, awkward, uncomfortable, yet necessary to grow.
The past few years have taught me that true community is messy and doesn’t come naturally, but when you all realize how much you need each other, God uses your people to help you heal and grow.
